Quiet morning: one GPU lease and one strike on a data centre.

Top of mind

Alpha Compute signed an $81.7M, four-year lease for 592 B300 GPUs. Ukrainian drones targeted a Sberbank data centre site, a day after Yandex outages. Nothing qualifying in chips or models inside the window.

Alpha Compute leases 592 B300s for $81.7M

TakeawayAlpha Compute (Nasdaq: ALP) signed a binding four-year lease of its ALPHA-03 cluster in Missouri, per its own release.

  • Contract value $81.7M; annual recurring revenue $20.2M.
  • 576 liquid-cooled NVIDIA B300 GPUs plus 16 spares, in 1.3MW of capacity.
  • Customer is an unnamed AI compute marketplace; delivery targeted for early Q1 2027.
  • Fees are payable whether or not the capacity is used.

AngleAnnual revenue over 576 GPUs works out to about $4.00 per GPU-hour (computed, assuming spares are not billed). That is a take-or-pay B300 reference, though the release's own prepayment figures do not reconcile, so treat the terms as the issuer's.

Drones hit Sberbank data centre site in Saratov

The Moscow Times·2026-10-14

TakeawayUkrainian drones targeted a Sberbank data centre under construction in Russia's Saratov region overnight, the paper reports.

  • Sberbank's first deputy CEO told TASS the Balakovo site was targeted and banking services ran normally.
  • Project cost is 122.2 billion rubles (about $1.4 billion); completion is expected in 2030.
  • Yandex lost half its data centres after three consecutive strikes, the paper says.

AngleData centres are now explicit targets in the Russia-Ukraine war, not collateral. Outage trackers reported Sberbank and GigaChat disruptions, but the paper could not tie them to the strike. Drone counts are the Russian Defense Ministry's and unverified.
